Renascence, Inc. is a nonprofit that assists ex-incarcerated males in the transition from prison to successful reintegration into the local community. Renascence’s Re-entry Program assists men recently released on probation or parole for nonviolent offenses to reintegrate into the community. The program helps them overcome challenges with work skills and habits, chemical dependency, education, and family and community responsibilities. Renascence is more than a halfway house – it’s a fresh start, a new life. For men serving sentences for non-violent or non-sexual offenses, the lack of a willing support network is the main obstacle to beginning a successful, productive transition back into society.
The Alabama Therapeutic Education Facility (ATEF) helps prepare participants to transition from incarceration to re-entry. It is a residential facility that provides comprehensive behavioral, vocational and educational services to prepare incarcerated people to enter the Work Release Program.
