Reunion DC

Reunion DC is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting formerly incarcerated individuals during their return to the community. The organization is entirely volunteer run, and volunteers participate in a number of differing faiths. Their collective goal is to offer concrete services and support for men and women after incarceration through a combination of personal development and peer support. Some of the activities encouraged by Reunion DC include providing mentorship and community through the pen pal program, as well as participation in organization meetings focused on addressing the underlying causes for reoffense. Additionally, Reunion DC educates the community about restorative justice and advocates for a shift away from punitive justice. Organization meetings address major issues like prison reform, racial disparities in the justice system and how to successfully advocate for justice involved individuals' rights. For more information about specific services, or to request support, individuals should contact the organization directly using the information on this page.
