The Second Chance Employer Program was created for women with a history of incarceration to better assimilate into the workforce. This Oasis of Northwest Arkansas sponsored program is a faith-based women’s transitional living community that provides safe, supportive housing and resources for women in recovery. Oasis provides food, clothing, shelter, education, and employment opportunities while walking alongside women ready to reconstruct their lives. They’re dedicated to restoring individuals, rebuilding families, and transforming communities. Oasis of Northwest application process is as follows: complete application, background check (they cannot accept sexual or violent offenders), interview, clean drug/alcohol screening, completion of drug and/or alcohol treatment program (at least 28 days clean). Once accepted to Oasis of Northwest Arkansas, residents must obtain gainful employment or attend school full-time. In addition, residents are required to attend 3 recovery meetings per week, obtain a sponsor and meet regularly with that sponsor.
