Southern New Hampshire Services (SNHS) has provided social assistance programs and advocacy efforts to economically disadvantaged, elderly, young, and vulnerable groups. SNHS helps the community overcome barriers to economic independence as the Community Action Agency serving Southern New Hampshire. The goal of SNHS is to break the cycle of poverty in the community by removing its leading causes rather than just treating its symptoms to achieve long term success. With the help of trained professionals, they offer counseling to incarcerated individuals through the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. They also allow volunteers to fulfill community service requirements established by the court. In addition, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) gives eligible persons access to various employment and training related services and professional career guidance. Its Workplace Success offers participants in the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP) a series of programs to help them get the skills, knowledge, experience, and assistance they need to find paid employment.
