Description

The Last Mile has created a widespread movement of support for criminal justice across the nation. They utilize a cooperative, non-partisan model to address the issue of mass incarceration. The Last Mile works to break the cycle of incarceration by focusing resources away from prisons and into higher education to provide educational services for young people in underserved communities. Through education and career services, The Last Mile hopes to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational incarceration. In addition, their program Returned Citizens focuses on assisting formerly incarcerated people use job training in prison to secure employment after their release.
