Total Community Action is a non-profit, community-based agency dedicated to serving the needs of the disadvantaged. Services provided by Total Community Action address the needs of the poor and near-poor by providing direct assistance, as well as the opportunity for people to better help themselves. In terms of justice-impacted individuals, specialized assistance and supports are provided to reentering citizens and high-risk individuals to reduce recidivism and support a successful transition to the community. This is achieved through a partnership with the New Orleans Re-entry Task Force in order to develop a faith-based Gap Analysis and Action Plan to support re-entering citizens. In general, Total Community Action provides job counseling and job readiness services, adult basic education, youth development, financial counseling, and more for those attempting to reintegrate and improve their position in society.
