Project Rebound

Project Rebound

Description

Project Rebound was founded by Professor John Irwin to help create pathways into San Francisco State University for justice involved people. The guiding principle of the organization is "Education as an Alternative to Incarceration," and their mission is to turn formerly incarcerated individuals into scholars. Hundreds of justice involved participants have obtained four-year degrees and/or graduate degrees through the program. Project Resound operates a number of programs to meet the individual needs of each participant, including centers dedicated to the support of trans participants and a woman's center to support formerly incarcerated women. They also maintain a child care center and help facilitate access to food, shelter and sustainable employment for all participants. Scholarships are available to help offset the cost of tuition and other necessities. For more information about Project Rebound, or to discuss enrollment in the program, individuals are encouraged to contact the program directly using the information on this page.
