Life Support Alliance is a collaborative partnership focused on supporting individuals serving life sentences and their loved ones. Staff and volunteers understand the unique challenges associated with having a loved one behind bars for life, and they hope to be a beacon of hope for them. The organization operates on three principles: hope for a second chance, help in rehabilitation, and bringing lifers home to society. They work directly with incarcerated individuals and their loved ones, but they also act as advocates with community stakeholders and legislators in a position to influence permanent justice reform. Much of the work from Life Support Alliance takes place during their workshops in correctional facilities, in classes offered to incarcerated individuals, and during seminars offered to family members of individuals serving life sentences.
