Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Wilmington
Description
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Council at Wilmington is committed to providing faith based mentorship and guidance to community members. Their mission is to unify women and men through Catholic ministry, and to provide individual support for those facing barriers to a happy, health life in the community. The society actively works with local partners and community organizations to provide the most inclusive, comprehensive assistance available to individuals suffering housing emergencies, returning to the community after incarceration, or recovering from personal crisis. They serve all three counties in Delaware, as well as nine counties across Maryland. Their prison ministry program specifically focuses on assisting incarcerated women who are returning to the community. They host a conference at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution to educate and prepare women for their release. They also share vital resources from the community that can ease the reintegration process for formerly incarcerated women and their loved ones.
