Vermont Catholic Charities

Vermont Catholic Charities is a faith-based organization that provides support services to people in need, including the imprisoned and the newly released population. Their goal is to enhance the self-respect, dignity, confidence and personal development of individuals whose lives are touched by their programs. Vermont Catholic Charities provides spiritual support to Catholic and non-Catholic incarcerated people in Vermont correctional facilities. Support services also include Mass, Communion services and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, distribution of Bibles, rosaries, devotional reading materials, faith enrichment discussion sessions, sacramental preparation and individual pastoral counseling when requested. Newly released incarcerated individuals may also receive assistance with rent payments, clothing vouchers and grocery cards. Moreover, they offer four fully licensed Level III care facilities throughout Vermont. Each resident is provided with room, board, personal care, general supervision, medication management and nursing oversight. Interest individuals should contact Vermont Catholic Charities directly to learn more about their programs and services.
