Gulf Coast Center For Nonviolence Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP)
Description
Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence acts as a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. To date, the organization has assisted more than twenty thousand individuals, with nearly twelve thousand children and adults attending nonviolence workshops each year. Additionally, their crisis call center received more than fifteen thousand calls every year. They are equipped to serve six Mississippi counties: Jackson, Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River, George, and Stone Counties. Their Domestic Violence Program includes individualized case management, a crisis line, emergency shelter, transitional residential services and advocacy in court. They also operate Adrienne's House is a satellite shelter serving individuals who are escaping domestic violence situations. All residents of Adrienne's House receive wraparound services specifically designed to support individuals exiting situations of domestic or sexual abuse.
