New Jersey Institute for Social Justice

Description

The New Jersey Institute for Social Justice (NJISJ) is a nonprofit organization that advocates for social and racial justice. NJISJ is on a mission to change criminal justice practices that criminalize communities of color, increase New Jersey youth prisons, promote racial injustice and lead to mass incarceration. The New Jersey Institute for Social Justice aims to ensure that New Jersey residents have access to economic justice, including chances for meaningful employment and access to housing. The Institute provides a fresh and impartial voice for the transformation needed to build upon urban communities that are inclusive, vibrant, and just. They are committed to recognizing and addressing the structural racism gaps in our society that pose a danger to communities of color. Additionally, they advocate for increasing access to our democracy, mainly through voting rights and participation, as well as rehabilitative, community focused alternatives to incarceration for juveniles. Contact New Jersey Institute for Social Justice directly for more information on their services.
