Legal Rights Center
Description
The Legal Rights Center is a social service organization assisting those with pending or ongoing litigation needs. Their mission is to work directly with community members and leaders to pursue justice and racial equality for those who have been historically underserved by the justice system. This includes direct representation, restorative justice efforts and community workshops that challenge underlying biases and prejudices. Each year, The Legal Rights Center assists indigent families and individuals with their civil (non-criminal) legal issues. They represent their clients in court, during appeals, in hearings in front of administrative law judges, and with advice and paperwork, both directly and through strategic partnerships with community organizations. Beyond direct client services, The Legal Rights Center participates in legislative and systemic justice reform advocacy in an effort to empower all residents of the state.
