EMPLOY

EMPLOY

Description

EMPLOY is a Minnesota reentry program implemented by the Minnesota Department of Corrections to support justice involved individuals. Currently, the program carries a Promising rating because it has shown significant success among its participants, reducing recidivism rates and improving chances at permanent reentry after incarceration. The mission of the program is to assist justice involved individuals with overcoming one of the most pervasive issues during reentry, that of entering the workforce. Participants gain important skills and experience working with Minnesota Correctional Industries, the state's prison industry program. Currently incarcerated individuals begin working while serving out their sentences, and those who show promise may be able to enter the EMPLOY program, which guarantees ongoing support for up to one year after individuals exit the corrections system. For more information about the EMPLOY program model or to request entry into the program, individuals should contact the organization directly using the information on this page.
