Goodwill is a national organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and reducing incarceration across the country. The Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands chapter in South Carolina operates several reentry programs specifically designed to assist formerly incarcerated individuals as they return to the community. LifeLaunch is a program created for individuals previously involved in the justice system, or who left high school without earning a diploma. This program provides reentry career services for young adults ages 18 to 24. Employment training opportunities are facilitated by a local community college and focus on in-demand jobs in local industries. Additionally, Goodwill provides pre-release and post-release workforce services for eligible, incarcerated individuals in state correctional facilities or local jails. Individuals can also receive assistance with career services, job training, certifications and programs that help individuals become independent through employment.
