HopeWorks
Description
HopeWorks is a nonprofit that helps people in Memphis and the mid-South find employment through adult education, employment and reentry. Their mission is to guide Memphians in need of a second chance through essential education, counseling and career development programming to have faith in God while building stability, confidence and a hope-filled future. HopeWorks helps people access essential educational opportunities, including high school equivalency degrees and English language courses. Additionally, their Personal and Career Development (PCD) program works to eliminate barriers and aid Memphians as they pursue career opportunities. Pre and post-release reentry services, counseling support, mentorship, technical education and career pathways are offered to justice impacted people. The PCD program for justice involved individuals is a stepping stone for personal and professional success after release and allows students to participate in the Hope 2 Hire program. It is a program that offers technical job-skills training to incarcerated people within Shelby County Corrections Department. In addition, students enrolled in HopeWorks’ PCD in prison program have access to HopeWorks HiSET programming.
