Stark County, OH Public Defender’s Office
Description
The Stark County Public Defender's Office is located in Canton, OH. With one Public Defender, one Assistant Public Defender, one investigator, a Chief Trial Counsel, and additional supporting legal staff in the Felony, Family, and municipal Division, this office provides legal representation to indigent clients in Stark County. The Public Defender's office provides legal representation for juveniles in delinquency and unruly proceedings and adults in Family Court whose parental rights may be in jeopardy due to abuse, neglect, or dependency. To qualify for representation, it must first be determined whether the person being represented is indigent based on the standards outlined in the Ohio Administrative Code. This requires an interview with one of the investigators in this office. You should contact their office to schedule an appointment if you cannot retain counsel and believe that you are indigent. If you are in jail, one of our investigators can interview you to determine whether you qualify. Please contact them directly by using the contact information on the right-hand side of the page.
