MaineWorks is a workforce company which employs individuals who face significant barriers in job placement. Though they are not a social services agency, their mission is to staff the industrial construction needs in Maine while improving the lives of their employees. MaineWorks is a proud member of the Alternative Staffing Alliance, a group focused on ensuring a non-discriminatory workplace environment. They actively recruit and serve individuals in recovery from chemical dependence and formerly incarcerated individuals, offering them full-time work in construction and assistance securing permanent employment with their clients. Their goal is to help disrupt the cycle of incarceration and generational poverty by continually facilitating the hiring of individuals that other employers may reject.
