Northeast Oregon Compassion Center
Description
Northeast Oregon Compassion Center is a faith-based non-profit that serves people in the Baker City community and surrounding areas who have a need – physical, emotional, relational or spiritual – regardless of their race, religion, or ability to pay. The Center offers support & classes like Food & Clothing, Christian caregiving, Anger management, Parenting, Support groups, Celebrate Recovery, Prison ministry and many others. Services are provided at no charge with the exception of some training classes/workshops or seminars that may have a fee to cover the cost of materials. The learning to change class is designed to help you readjust your thinking, which in turn will alter your behavior. You will meet one-on-one with a trained staff person who will help you discover your core beliefs and make the adjustments necessary to improve your relationships and get along in society. Their Food Pantry is open by appointment only on Thursday and the Clothing Boutique is open Wednesday and Thursdays, free of charge for the clients in the Food Pantry. There is a very nominal charge for the general public. All of their clothing is clean and gently used.
