Midlands Open Door
Description
The mission of Midlands Open Door is to use faith-based support for the unhoused and underserved individuals in the community. Their programs serve people with a variety needs, including a community soup kitchen available to any individual in need. Midlands Open Door offers emergency shelter for the unhoused. Residents of the shelter receive food, clothing and shelter along with a case manager to help guide them to self-sufficient living. The group also operates a clothing pantry available to individuals every day of the year. Case managers are available to serve community members who are unhoused or at risk of being unhoused. They can assist with job placement and referrals to community programs. Midlands Open Door also has a certified therapist onsite to assist individuals with mental health needs. Community members can contact the program directly or visit their physical location to discuss services.
