National Center on Institutions and Alternatives
Description
The mission of the National Center on Institutions and Alternatives (NCIA) is to help create a society in which all persons who come into contact with human service or correctional systems are provided an environment of individual care, concern, and treatment. NCIA is dedicated to developing quality programs and professional services that advocate timely intervention and unconditional care. These programs, aimed primarily at justice-impacted individuals, include services such as community living, vocational training, business services, criminal justice services, career development, and more. Through these services, NCIA aspires to achieve three very important goals that combined would characterize their success in making a difference. These three goals are to be the service provider of choice as evaluated by NCIA customers and by the outcome measures for those they serve, to be the employer of choice as determined by those who wish a career in the human services field and by their employee retention record, and to be a significant factor in addressing the social issues that are the heart of their mission. NCIA's innovative approach to service and care helps ensure that individuals connect with the community in ways that are comfortable and beneficial to everyone. NCIA welcomes all individuals without judgment and assists them in creating futures that are based on their personal experiences and individual definitions of success.
