Catholic Charities Community Services of Southern Arizona – Kolbe Society
Description
The Kolbe Society is a service supported by the Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona and committed to serving those affected by crime. It is a faith-based organization that serves incarcerated individuals, families with incarcerated loved ones and survivors of crime. Staff and volunteers focus their efforts on personal accountability, reunification and community justice. Formerly known as the Detention Ministry, Kolbe Society offers spiritual healing and support inside correctional facilities of all levels. Ordained church leaders and community leaders provide Mass and Communion for incarcerated individuals, as well as faith-based counseling and spiritual coaching. Kolbe Society volunteers operate a shuttle service for family members who require assistance visiting loved ones during incarceration. Both family members and survivors of crime are eligible for faith-based counseling, spiritual coaching and church services as well. After incarceration, volunteers work with formerly incarcerated individuals to ensure a successful and permanent transition back into the community. Individuals can contact the organization for more information.
