Getting Talent Back to Work

Getting Talent Back to Work is an initiative designed to reduce barriers to employment and financial independence after incarceration. Their mission is to connect formerly incarcerated individuals with employers, and to work directly with employers to provide the training individuals need to enter the workforce. The organization also works to alter negative mindsets among human resources professionals through education and training designed to dispels myths about employing formerly incarcerated individuals. Getting Talent Back to Work believes that hiring individuals with a criminal conviction makes the work place more inclusive and diverse, and that employers have access to a talented pool of employees who are regularly overlooked by most corporations. The program also directly benefits justice-impacted individuals, who make up almost one third of all working-age adults. Getting Talent Back to Work reduces second chance barriers by addressing the prejudices internalized by human resources professionals.
