Prison Talk Ministry
Description
Prison Talk Ministry is faith-based organization founded by Gary Skinner to support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. The organization offers services both inside correctional facilities and after individuals exit the system. Staff assist justice-impacted individuals on their spiritual journey through a combination of bible-based mentorship, spiritual guidance and outreach. They believe that a close connection with Christ is the best pathway to permanent reentry into the community and positive behavioral changes that disrupt the cycle of incarceration. The Lessons for Life Correspondence Course contains twenty-four lessons designed to help individuals transition from correctional facilities back into the community. The coursework promotes independence, financial stability, restoration and reunification with loved ones, and continued growth in the teachings of the church. Prison Talk Ministry also maintains a podcast and monthly newsletter which provide ongoing visibility and support for individuals touched by the justice system, educating the community and promoting harmony between individuals and the communities they return to after incarceration.
