The Transition House
Description
The Transition House is a nonprofit organization that provides several programs to assist justice involved individuals during and after incarceration. Their goal is to help participants establish the habits and mindsets that foster permanent independent living outside the corrections system. The Transition House offers various services depending on an individuals location. Justice involved individuals are eligible for counseling services and support during mental health crisis across Florida, Tennessee, Indiana, Kansas and Massachussets. Their work release programs are available in the cities of Kissimmee, Dinsmore, Bartow and Tarpon Springs. The Transition House operates several residential programs in Florida, including a men's residential community in St. Cloud, Florida and a co-ed program in Starke, Florida. The location of the women's residential community is not available online due to safety concerns, but women interested in residential services can contact the program directly for more information. Some programs are tailored for the specific needs of veterans, including justice-impacted veterans.
