Set Free After Care Ministries, Inc.
Description
Set Free After Care Ministries is a faith-based organization dedicated to providing assistance for individuals reentering the community after incarceration. Volunteers and staff understand the difficult of leaving the corrections system with little money, few job opportunities and potentially strained relationships with family and friends. They hope to disrupt the cycle of recidivism by offering spiritual guidance and concrete assistance overcoming the barriers that individuals with criminal convictions face during reintegration. They provide transitional housing services to help individuals get back on their feet in a safe, stable and supportive environment. Set Free After Care Ministries coordinates with corrections facilities to pick up individuals on the day of their release, transports them to a faith-based community with transitional housing, and provides basic necessities like clothing, mentorship, financial guidance and nutritious meals. Participants in the program learn about the power of bible-based teachings and work toward positive life changes while also acquiring the skills necessary to live sustainable, independent lives outside prison.
