Camp Agape Hawaii

Camp Agape Hawaii is a faith-based organization developed to intervene in the lives of children with one or more incarcerated parents. The camp infuses hands-on activities with opportunities for faith building and spiritual guidance. Participants can expect to take part in outdoor activities like surfing and archery, as well as craft building and dramatic productions. Every participant also works one-on-one with an assigned mentor. The goal of Camp Agape Hawaii is to address the increasing problem of intergenerational incarceration in Hawaiian families. Though the camp is a small event, participants maintain contact with their peers and their assigned mentors throughout the year. This reinforces the strong bonds necessary to prevent youth incarceration.
