Archdiocese of Indianapolis

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis oversees ministry and support services for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. The Corrections Ministry facilitates a number of programs to meet individuals where they are and offer the support they need for their unique circumstances. For individuals returning to the community, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis recommends that local parishes offer concrete support including food pantries, vocational services and compassionate guidance. The Churches Embracing Offenders program offers faith-based work to individuals with nonviolent criminal convictions, including guidance toward sobriety and assistance with family reunification. The Trusted Mentors program pairs individuals with community members who offer kindness and advice about navigating available resources and reintegrating into the community. The Getting Ahead While Getting Out program offers coursework and mentorship for individuals within 18 to 24 months of release to prepare them for reentry. For more information about a specific program, contact a local parish of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
