JusticeMatters
Description
JusticeMatters is a legal resource and representation organization to protect the rights of individuals in the North Carolina community. Staff are dedicated to addressing the foot causes and ramifications of human trafficking across North Carolina. JusticeMatters offers caregivers legal resources to ensure that they have access to safe, stable living communities for young people in their charge. They also offer resources and legal support to survivors of human trafficking and work with policymakers to address human trafficking more completely at the court level. Each individuals begins with a comprehensive assessment of individual needs using a survey provided on the JusticeMatters website. Staff will review responses from this survey to determine what legal resources are most necessary. This may include representation in family law courts, advocacy for witnesses and survivors, and immigration law. Certain legal needs outside their expertise may require a referral to community partners who are better equipped for the task.
