Prisoner Reentry Network

Prisoner Reentry Network

Description

The Prisoner Reentry Network is an expansive organization focused on community education, support and advocacy. Their mission is to promote permanent reintegration into the community after incarceration and to remove barriers to reentry through a combination of policy work, community relations and dispelling myths about formerly incarcerated individuals. The Prisoner Reentry Network actively distributes information to the community through videos, correspondence and public speaking engagements to raise awareness about the difficulties of returning to the community after incarceration. Staff also interview individuals who have served life sentences and make those interviews available to the public so that incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals have a platform to voice their experiences. The Fair Chance Bay Area initiative assists individuals reentering the workforce and involves collaboration with local employers to ensure that individuals have access to living-wage jobs after release. For more information about their current projects, individuals should use the contact information provided on the organization website.
