Options Recovery Services is an organization committed to disrupting cycles of crime, reuniting families and ending homelessness. Staff and volunteers believe in healing the whole community through a variety of support systems. Options Recovery Services maintains sober living housing in the cities of Oakland, San Leandro and Berkeley. Participation in these housing communities requires a shelter referral. They welcome formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as those experiencing housing insecurity as a result of chronic mental health issues and/or HIV/AIDS. The organization also facilitates several treatment workshops and meetings for individuals recovering from chemical dependence, including day and evening options for treatment. Certain optional treatments, like acupuncture, carry a small fee. Lastly, the Offender Mentor Certification Program provides in-custody counselor training with an option to obtain certification after release.
