Arizona Justice Project

Description

The Arizona Justice Project is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that seeks justice for the innocent and the wrongfully imprisoned. AZ Justice Project's mission is to represent indigent Arizona prisoners whose claims of innocence or manifest injustice have gone unheeded. The Arizona Justice Project reviews and assists in Cases of Actual Innocence or cases in which a Manifest Injustice has occurred. The project's aim is to achieve justice for the innocent and wrongfully imprisoned in Arizona. In an ongoing effort to both correct past injustices and prevent future wrongful convictions, the Arizona Justice Project distributes a newsletter to help educate the public on the misconceptions surrounding wrongful convictions. To find out actual innocence they investigate post-conviction cases where the testing of DNA evidence could show innocence. The Arizona Justice Project also reviews and litigates cases where a wrongful conviction occurred but where DNA evidence is not available for testing or where the testing of DNA evidence would not be dispositive of innocence.
