Brighter, Behavior, Choices, Inc. was founded in recognition of the need for recovery services, support programs and housing assistance for women involved with the Illinois Department of Corrections. The organization operates a housing initiative to offer women a safe, stable living environment where they can focus on personal development and self improvement without the added stress of living on their own. Eligibility requirements include: individuals suffering from alcoholism, substance use, and mental /behavioral health disorders; age requirement of 21 and over; homeless; financially challenged or low-income; veterans. Brighter, Behavior, Choices, Inc. accepts referrals from Licensed Treatment Recovery Facilities; Illinois Association of Extended Care (IAEC); Community Assistance Programs; Department of Veterans Affairs and Administration; Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). Those accepted into the program receive peer coaching, transportation assistance, recovery services, job development services and spiritual guidance.
