Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office Re-entry Programs
Description
The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office Re-Entry Programs are multifaceted and designed to reduce recidivism for formerly incarcerated individuals. These programs are operated through the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office and affiliated with the corrections system, which allows several programs to begin during pre-release and help prepare individuals for life outside prison. GRASP (Gender-responsive Reentry Assistance Support Program) offers mentorship and wraparound services for young adults, most of whom are female. Their services include life development courses, parenting workshops and case management, as well as support during and after pregnancy. ComALERT (Community and Law Enforcement Together) is a program for adults aged 18 or older who are exiting the incarceration system into the Brooklyn community. Services include referrals for community programs and coordination of social services for qualifying individuals. KCRTF (Kings County Re-Entry Task Force) also offers targeted support and community program referrals for individuals exiting the corrections system in Brooklyn communities.
