Charis Prison Ministry

Charis Prison Ministry supports both currently and formerly incarcerated individuals in Minnesota corrections facilities. While their primary focus is on ministering to individuals who are currently serving time, they also understand the need for individuals to feel supported and hopeful as they return to the community. They have put together a number of resources and community service programs that help empower all formerly incarcerated individuals to successfully reintegrate and break the cycle of incarceration. For those who are currently incarcerated, Charis Prison Ministry follows a strict model that makes use of a three day intensive retreat to help connect participants with their spiritual core. The first day of the retreat is centered on withdrawing from the outside world and focusing on the present moment, while the second day is grounded in learning how to live as a Christian. The final day of the retreat emphasizes living in the outside world as a Christian.
