Colorado Correctional Industries

Description

Colorado Correctional Industries (CCI) is a division of the Colorado Department of Corrections. Their purpose is to create profitable industries inside prison facilities and to provide work opportunities for incarcerated people. CCI's goal is to provide incarcerated people with the dignity and self-respect that comes from a well performed job. Incarcerated workers earn enough to start paying off their restitution, support their families, and save a home for a smoother transition back to their communities, so they have a better chance of never returning. Coffee Roasting is a new program that allows incarcerated workers to learn the art of roasting coffee. The coffee is sold initially as a finished product through the DOC Canteen program. All workers in this program earn minimum wage and have the opportunity to achieve roasting certifications that translate to the private sector upon release. Contact CCI directly for more information on their employment services for incarcerated individuals.
