Commissary Fund

The Commissary Fund collects and pools donations to provide prison commissary and basic necessities to incarcerated individuals in New York correctional facilities. Their mission is to address the difficulties involved in getting incarcerated individuals the fundamental necessities. Commissary Fund believes that all incarcerated individuals must have access to meet their basic needs as a human right. Their service helps to address racial and economic disparity inside correctional facilities, as well as alleviate the financial burden for family members working hard to support their loved ones during incarceration. Individuals can apply for commissary funds directly through the website, by email or through the mail. Family members may also request commissary funds for their loved ones as long as they have the NYS ID Number/DIN (Department Identification Number) and name of the correctional facility.
