Community Educational Outreach

Community Educational Outreach is a nonprofit organization that believes in the power of education to change individuals and change the world. The organization was founded in order to address barriers related to chemical dependence, generational poverty and over incarceration. Their programs intervene and support individuals in recovery, as well as those working to improve their financial stability and those returning to the community after incarceration. At Community Educational Outreach, staff are committed to improving social justice equity through educational opportunities, peer mentorship and strong guidance. Individuals can participate in workshops to prepare for high school equivalency exams, including guided instruction in reading, math, writing, science and social studies. Additionally, Community Educational Outreach is certified to offer the HiSET High School equivalency test, so individuals can take the test on site when they feel prepared. Beyond educational support, the organization also offers coursework and workshops in career development, job planning and entering the workforce.
