Community Work Services
Description
Community Work Services is a community based organization that has served Boston for more than one hundred and forty years. Staff continue to carry out the mission established by its founder, to provide sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities for individuals regardless of their background. Their Career Design School begins with an intensive job development workshop series that spans two weeks. During this time, participants collaborate with a placement specialist to target the skills necessary to enter specific fields and successfully secure permanent employment. Following this two-week service, participants receive a full year of ongoing support to ensure that they maintain employment. This second step is essential to establishing a work history and developing positive relationships with community employers. Community Work Services also has a Commercial Production Training Program that lasts six weeks and prepares individuals for careers in commercial production.
