Description

The Covenant House is a nonprofit shelter home dedicated to providing housing, employment, education, life skills, and physical and behavioral health services to the youth to become independent members of our community. At Covenant House, young residents pursue education, training, and employment opportunities to further their academic and career development. In addition to medical and mental health services, they offer behavioral healthcare, counseling, pastoral care, art and music therapy, and more. Their staff connects with youth facing homelessness and human trafficking and provides them with food, counseling and information on programs. Covenant House offers job readiness training such as mock interviews and resume writing, job search services such as partner with local job training programs, and job placement for their youth, working one-on-one with each resident. They also have on-site adolescent healthcare provided in partnership with Tulane Medical School. Group sessions on subjects such as anger management and substance abuse, community building activities, individual wellness sessions, including home visits for their off-site residents, and art and exercise therapy activities both on-site and at partner, facilities are conducted by Covenant House.
