The Cumberland County Public Defender's Office is located in Greenup, IL. With Public Defenders, Staff Attorneys and other legal staff, this office is committed to providing legal representation to criminal defendants in Cumberland County. This office provides representation in court-appointed cases only. The Public Defender ensures that every accused citizen, regardless of financial resources, receives zealous and effective representation as mandated by the United States and Illinois Constitutions. The goal of the Public Defender is to provide a fully competent, effective, and ethical defense to each client whose cause has been entrusted to the Office for representation.
