D.C. Central Kitchen

Description

DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is a nonprofit social organization that combats hunger and poverty through employment services. Their mission is to use food as a way to strengthen individuals, develop positive thinking and foster community. DCCK offers hand-on culinary job training and placement. They also create living wage employment opportunities and deliver nutritious food to areas of need. Their program is designed for those facing significant barriers to employment, such as those exiting incarceration or who have a criminal record. DCCK delivers fresh meals to DC schools, as well as corner stores in food deserts and operating a fast-casual cafe. Individuals should contact the program directly for more information or to participate in a program.
