Douglas County Reentry Assistance Program

Douglas County Reentry Assistance Program

Description

Douglas County Reentry Assistance Program is a specialized program offering eligible individuals a viable alternative to incarceration. The mission of the program is to effectively rehabilitate individuals through structured opportunities for completing court mandated sentencing outside prison. Their model centers three key aspects of support: vocational services, educational opportunities and treatment for substance abuse or mental health disorders. Though conceived as a reentry service, the Reentry Assistance Program may now function as an initial sanction, an alternative method for serving out a sentence, a graduated sentence, or a tool to facilitate early release. Participants receive intensive treatment for substance abuse recovery, mental health treatment, cognitive and behavior training, vocational services, assistance obtaining a GED, screenings for chronic illnesses like HIV and AIDS, and conflict resolution training. For more information about the Reentry Assistance Program, individuals should contact the Douglas County Department of Corrections directly using the information on this page.
