Empowering Ex-Offenders in Transition (EXIT) Program

Empowering Ex-Offenders in Transition (EXIT) Program is a subdivision of the Muskegon Sheriff's office focused on reentry efforts. Their mission is to ensure that all individuals returning to the Muskegon community have the best chance at permanently reintegrating into the community through a combination of comprehensive job training and services, life skills development, educational support and concrete experience in the workforce. EXIT works in direct partnership with local social service organizations that serve formerly incarcerated individuals, including treatment and rehabilitation centers, residential communities and job training programs. Currently, EXIT maintains partnerships with partners with Muskegon Community College, READ Muskegon, Muskegon County Sheriff's Office, Goodwill Industries of West Michigan, Muskegon Family Court, Public Health and many others. These partnerships ensure that all participants receive the best available supports from the most applicable organizations.
