Family Law CASA
Description
Family law CASA works within a structured program to help vulnerable children and families heal in order to promote a safe, healthy future for the child. They want to help children from lower-income families that are caught in the middle of cases involving factors such as criminal activity, substance abuse, and domestic violence. The program gathers circumstances for courts so that a judge can order services and structures that contribute to a healthy future for every child. The structured program includes screening, intensive training, professional guidance, legal consultation and representation, technical report templates and forms, educational webinars and workshops, and community-building events. The CASA volunteers will learn about each child's needs and risk factors by interviewing family members, teachers, friends, and counselors. They will summarize their observations and recommendations in reports submitted to the court. This program serves children from lower-income homes within King County, Washington.
