The Federal Public Defender for the District of Kansas' City Office is a branch office located in Kansas City, Kansas. With around six Public Defenders, the Federal Defender's Office represents criminal defendants accused of federal crime. The office also collaborates and build relationships with each other and others in the community to support you both in and out of court. Additionally, the Federal Public Defender's office educates and is constantly learning and teaching others new ideas about the law, poverty, race, and culture, and the need for institutional reform and systemic change. The Federal Public Defender's Office is appointed by the court. They cannot provide direct representation to a criminal defendant. Along with other Assitant Public Defenders, the Wichita office is supervised by a Branch Chief who is an Assitant Federal Public Defender.
