The Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Pennsylvania's Harrisburg office is the main federal public defender's office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. With one federal public defender, one first assistant federal public defender, and three panel attorneys on staff, they provide defense services to people who are financially unable to obtain adequate representation in federal criminal cases, appeals, and habeas corpus matters. Before the Criminal Justice Act permits the Harrisburg office to represent you, the federal court must first determine that you are eligible, and then, second, the court must decide to appoint the office to represent you. Attorneys in this office may not engage in the private practice of law.
