The Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Ohio's Akron office is a branch of the public defender's office for Northern Ohio. With one federal public defender, one first assistant federal public defender, and 23 panel attorneys on staff, the Akron office defends indigent citizens in order to preserve, protect and defend the principle of equal justice for all. The attorneys at this office advocate for their clients, providing independent trial defense services free from influence by anyone other than the assigned counsel and the defendant. They represent each and every client within the bounds of the law, consistent with their professional ethics, and in accordance with all applicable rules of practice.
