The Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Florida's Miami office is the main office. With around 28 Federal Defenders and Assistant Federal Defenders, the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Florida's Miami Office represents clients who have been charged with a federal crime and who cannot afford to hire a private defense attorney. Each attorney is appointed to represent his or her client by the Court. Their mission is to provide effective legal representation, and they are dedicated to defending their clients with compassion and vigor. The main office is located Miami, with branch offices in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce and Key West. The Federal Public Defender's defend a diverse range of criminal charges including drug crimes, tax law violations, firearms offenses, bank robbery, racketeering, bank fraud, environmental crimes, and computer-based offenses.
