Free Clinic of Rome
Description
Free Clinic of Rome is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to ensuring access to health services regardless of income. Staff and volunteers offer primary medical care to low-income and uninsured individuals in Floyd, Polk, Chattooga, Gordon and Bartow counties. More than 90% of the staff at Free Clinic of Rome volunteer their time to ensure that services are available to residents at no cost. Before receiving services, individuals must schedule and complete an intake appointment to determine eligibility. During this appointment, staff must confirm each individual's current address and present income status. Documentation may include recent tax statements, a certificate of non-filing status or recent pay stubs. Currently, Free Clinic of Rome estimates a wait time of 2-4 weeks for intake appointments. For that reason, the clinic is not equipped to service walk-in appointments or provide emergency care to patients. Individuals can use the contact form on the website or call the clinic directly to discuss intake and available services.
